So as nobody here knows, I am currently the owner of a $50 polaroid tablet. It is slow, clunky, and generally miserable to use. That’s why I’m upgrading to the Acer Iconia One B1-770-K651. I’ll just get down to the details. 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, Bluetooth, dual cameras, Android 5.0, and 16GB of internal memory. The cost? $100. Does Oppo think that this is a good buy?

compared to the poloroid its gonna be a night and day difference. I’m sure there are better options out there, but for the price I’d say what the hell, the specs seem pretty decent on paper.

My first tablet was a £20 chinese android slab and it is easily the worse thing I have ever bought. When it comes to computing, I will never go “cheap and chearful” again. Literally two weeks in, I chucked it in a draw and bought a Nexus 7. I hope your purchase works out better than mine.

Thanks! Hopefully it will, as it is a legit Acer.

My gf has a nicer Acer tablet that’s not much more $$$ than this one.
Acer makes a lot of tablets with different versions and varying quality of hardware. This one has a kinda slow MediaTek MT8127 processor and a low-res 7” 1024x600 screen.
Gf’s is an Iconia Tab 8 A1-850-13FQ which has a pretty decent Intel Z3735G processor and 8” 1280x800 screen.
(Both these chips are 1.3 ghz quad core but that never tells the whole story.)
Hers was on sale for $119 at Best Buy, but it’s now back up to $149. Newegg has it refurbished for $69 but that’s from a third-party seller and I have no clue on warranty. I’m sure a little poking around could locate something better than the one you posted.

I’m fine with a slow processor, as all I will use it for will be Oppo and music. And a 7” is better for me as I want it to fit in my pocket.

Ok well even among the 7” Acer options you can probably get a better CPU and screen for about the same money. The Acer Iconia One B1-750 has an Intel Z3735 and 7” 1280x800 screen and it’s the same price. There are others as well.

The B1-750 got really disappointing reviews, and costs more than the one I’m looking at (I’m in Canada). It’s not 40% more tablet, but costs 40% more.
